Role Summary
Lead alignment between Verification IP (VIP) and Design IP verification for PCIe and CXL interfaces. Define VIP requirements from real design use cases, validate UVM-based environments, and coordinate cross-functional teams to raise verification rigor and traceability.
Experience Level
Senior level — 15+ years of hands-on digital verification experience, with significant experience in PCI Express or high-speed serial protocols.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Align VIP capabilities with Design IP verification needs for Controller and PHY; identify and prioritize feature gaps.
- Drive requirements definition for VIP based on real design verification use cases and traceability.
- Track PCI Express specification updates, ECNs, and errata; translate changes into actionable requirements for VIP and Design IP teams.
- Review and critique testplans, pushing for strong coverage, traceability, and best practices.
- Report VIP deployment metrics and lead continuous improvement of VIP integration into verification flows.
- Work hands-on with UVM-based verification environments to validate VIP usage and demonstrate model best practices.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- 15+ years in digital verification, with significant PCI Express or other high-speed serial protocol experience.
- Deep subject-matter expertise in PCIe Link Layer and PHY, including specification details, ECNs, and errata.
- Proven experience in IP product development — building Verification IP or deploying VIP to verify complex Design IP.
- Strong UVM knowledge and practical experience with UVM-based verification environments.
- Proven ability to drive results across cross-functional, matrixed, geographically distributed teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with CXL or other coherent interconnect protocols.
