Senior, client-facing FPGA engineer for a long-term contract based in San Diego (hybrid). Responsible for driving FPGA design and verification efforts across Xilinx/Intel platforms, supporting prototype bring-up, testing, and manufacturing activities.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Lead FPGA architecture, RTL design, and verification for complex systems.
• Develop and maintain code in Verilog and/or VHDL and integrate with tool flows.
• Perform FPGA bring-up, bench testing, EMC/environmental test support, and debugging.
• Use signal-integrity and simulation tools to validate high-speed interfaces and board-level behavior.
• Support manufacturing and production testing activities and rapid prototyping efforts.
• Work directly with clients and cross-functional teams; communicate status and technical issues clearly.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills:

• Must-have: Demonstrated FPGA design and verification experience.
• Must-have: Experience with Vivado and/or Quartus tool flows.
• Must-have: Experience with current Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) devices (examples: Kintex, Artix, Zynq, Cyclone, Stratix, Arria).
• Must-have: Experience supporting EMC/environmental testing and manufacturing activities.
• Must-have: Familiarity with signal-integrity tools (for example, HyperLynx) and board-level debugging.
• Must-have: Strong communication and client-facing skills; able to onboard quickly and collaborate effectively.
• Nice-to-have: Verilog and VHDL experience (preferred).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Vitis or similar toolchains.
