Job Title

Sr. DFT Engineer, Amazon Leo

Role Summary

Join the Amazon LEO sub-team responsible for defining and implementing digital SoCs for Low Earth Orbit satellite communications and gateway equipment. The role designs and integrates DFT solutions across ASIC projects, collaborates with RF, implementation, and test teams, and drives methodology improvements including AI-enabled automation.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 5+ years in advanced DFT; 7+ years preferred for broader leadership and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architect and define DFT solutions tailored to various LEO chip designs.
  • Customize IP and DFT methodology and incorporate AI-based flow enhancements.
  • Work with ASIC design teams to insert DFT logic such as MBIST, clock controls, and JTAG controllers.
  • Collaborate with RFIC teams to maximize fault coverage on custom mixed-signal blocks.
  • Ensure blocks meet DFT, timing, and power targets in coordination with implementation teams.
  • Work with Test Engineering to translate ATE patterns to tester formats and support digital bring-up.

Requirements

Must-have skills, constraints, and preferred extras:

  • 5+ years implementing advanced DFT techniques for deep sub-micron nodes, including DFT insertion and validation automation.
  • Experience with MBIST, clock-control logic, and JTAG controllers.
  • Proven ability to develop automated scripts/flows for DFT insertion and validation; experience with AI/ML automation is a plus.
  • Experience collaborating with RFIC engineers on designs with significant mixed-signal content.
  • Experience translating ATE patterns to tester formats and supporting tester bring-up.
  • Export-control eligibility: must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), refugee, or asylee.
  • Preferred: experience with automotive standards and approaches to achieve single-digit DPPM targets.

Education Requirements

Basic qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Communications Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in electrical engineering. Preferred: Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical/Communications Engineering.
