Sr Design Verification Engineer, DRAM
Role Summary
As a senior design verification engineer in Micron's DRAM Design Engineering Group (DDEG), you will verify and optimize digital and analog circuit designs for next‑generation DRAM products. You will work across global, cross‑functional teams to plan verification, run simulations and modeling, debug circuits, and support silicon validation through tape‑out and manufacturing handoff.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Posting minimum: 4+ years of semiconductor design, verification, or development experience; the role expects senior responsibility for verification planning and silicon correlation.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute verification strategies and drive coverage closure for digital, analog, and mixed‑signal circuits.
- Develop and run circuit models and simulations (SPICE, Verilog) and analyze results for functionality, power, and reliability.
- Debug circuit issues, correlate simulation results to silicon, and drive design improvements.
- Support silicon validation, reticle experiments, tape‑out activities, and manufacturability handoff.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and product teams to meet performance, reliability, cost, and customer requirements.
- Maintain verification documentation and provide metrics for coverage and quality.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- 4+ years of semiconductor design, verification, or development experience.
- Experience with verification planning, coverage strategies, debug, and silicon correlation.
- Experience with circuit modeling and simulation using SPICE and Verilog.
- Familiarity with digital and analog design methodologies and EDA tools such as Synopsys and Cadence Virtuoso.
- Experience supporting silicon validation, tape‑out, and manufacturing handoff.
- Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively on global, cross‑functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with UVM, mixed‑signal verification, or advanced DRAM architectures (e.g., DDR5+).
- Knowledge of advanced memory technologies (ferroelectric memory, wafer bonding, advanced packaging, small‑signal sensing, high‑voltage reliability).
- Programming experience in Python and experience using AI‑assisted tools for verification or EDA automation.
- 5+ years experience in design verification, parasitic modeling, or mixed‑signal design (preferred).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
