Sr Design Readiness Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Sr Design Readiness Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design-readiness activities for new DRAM products, bridging design intent, validation execution, and manufacturing to enable product launch. Work with cross-functional engineering teams to assess risk, prioritize debug, and recommend mitigation strategies.
Experience Level
Senior β requires substantial industry experience in semiconductor design, validation, or product engineering (senior-level responsibility and technical leadership).
Responsibilities
Deliver technical leadership across pre-silicon and post-silicon readiness activities and drive resolution of silicon issues.
- Lead pre-silicon readiness: risk assessment, DFMEA preparation, validation planning, and readiness reviews.
- Coordinate with Design, Verification, Component Validation, Product Engineering, Product Architecture, System Compatibility, and Silicon Strategy teams.
- Analyze circuit behavior, silicon data, validation results, failure signatures, and product-level interactions across design, test, and manufacturing flows.
- Plan and drive structured investigations and root-cause analyses; define experiments and evidence review to align mitigations or screening strategies to milestones.
- Recommend product readiness decisions based on technical evidence, manufacturing constraints, and customer quality expectations.
- Develop strategies for silicon debug, screen development, margin characterization, and production coverage.
- Mentor engineers, capture lessons learned, and help scale technical practices across DRAM programs.
- Apply approved AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity while ensuring human-in-the-loop validation and governance.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for effective performance in this role.
- Proven experience in semiconductor design, DRAM or memory technology, silicon validation, product engineering, device characterization, circuit debug, reliability, test development, or new product introduction.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems using silicon data, schematics, circuit behavior, failure analysis, and statistical evidence.
- Experience leading technical investigations, defining experiments, and driving root-cause analysis across design, validation, test, or manufacturing teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical explanations to peers and leadership.
- Proven ownership, technical curiosity, and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving product development environments.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical workstreams (preferred).
- Familiarity with AI-enabled engineering tools and productivity workflows (preferred).
Education Requirements
Advanced technical background expected. The posting cites PhD or MS as highly valued and explicitly lists degree fields including electrical engineering, computer engineering, semiconductor engineering, applied physics, and materials science. Equivalent depth of industry experience is acceptable.
