Job Title
Sr. Design Engineer / Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for power management products using advanced BiCMOS/DMOS processes. Work on circuit synthesis, simulation, layout supervision, test support and customer evaluation for products such as switching regulators, eFuses, half-bridge drivers and point-of-load regulators.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Experience guidance: posting specifies a minimum of two years of relevant semiconductor/analog IC design experience for candidates with an MSEE.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, verification, and production support of analog/mixed-signal power ICs.
- Architect and synthesize circuits from transistor/resistor level to system-level; run simulations and support verification.
- Supervise and review layout to ensure correct analog layout techniques and reliability considerations.
- Support ATE development and implement Design-for-Test methods.
- Assist applications/field engineers with evaluation, characterization and customer support.
- Work on products for networking, telecom, servers, GPUs and point-of-load applications.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes.
- Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuits (amplifiers, comparators, oscillators, references, LDOs, POR, level shifters, drivers, current sensing).
- Practical knowledge of analog layout techniques and layout verification practices.
- Familiarity with ESD, latch-up mechanisms and device/reliability considerations for ICs.
- Knowledge of IC qualification requirements and product characterization.
- Solid circuit fundamentals and strong simulation skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer interaction.
- Experience with power-management topologies (switching regulators, half-bridge drivers, eFuses) is strongly desirable.
Education Requirements
PhD in a relevant field is accepted; alternatively an MSEE with a minimum of two years of semiconductor or analog/power IC design experience (as stated in the posting).
