Job Title
Sr. ASIC Design Verification Engineer (Silicon Engineering)
Role Summary
Join the Silicon Engineering team developing next-generation ASICs for Starlink. The role focuses on digital ASIC verification across block and system levels, spanning pre-silicon verification through chip bring-up and post-silicon validation.
Work with cross-disciplinary teams (systems, firmware, architecture, design, validation, product engineering) to deliver robust, space- and ground-deployable silicon.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 5+ years of design verification and testbench development experience.
Responsibilities
Execute verification activities for complex digital ASICs from pre-silicon through post-silicon validation.
- Develop and execute block- and system-level verification plans and test suites.
- Write and review test plans, create test harnesses, and implement test sequences.
- Run regressions, drive code and functional coverage closure, and analyze results.
- Implement constrained-random verification and coverage-driven methodologies.
- Automate verification flows using scripting (e.g., Python) and develop infrastructure for efficient regression runs.
- Contribute to chip bring-up and post-silicon validation activities.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, firmware, and validation teams to resolve complex issues.
- Operate as a hands-on self-starter, adapting to shifting priorities and deadlines.
Requirements
Key technical skills and eligibility required or strongly preferred. Education details are summarized separately below.
-
Must-have: Proven experience in design verification and testbench development; strong RTL understanding.
- Experience with verification methodologies such as UVM/OVM/VMM.
- Strong object-oriented programming and coding skills; experience with scripting for automation (e.g., Python).
- Experience implementing coverage models and achieving coverage closure.
- Familiarity with constrained-random verification techniques and analysis of verification results.
- Experience or familiarity with RTL design, chip bring-up, and post-silicon validation is highly valuable.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends when required to meet critical milestones.
-
Compliance: ITAR export-eligibility required β applicant must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or otherwise eligible for Department of State authorization. See U.S. Department of State for ITAR information.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required. Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in electrical or computer engineering is preferred.
