Job Title

Sr. ASIC Design Engineer

Role Summary

As a Senior ASIC Design Engineer on the digital ASIC design team in San Jose, you will design and integrate digital logic across the full ASIC lifecycle, from specifications and microarchitecture through synthesis, timing closure, and top-level integration. You will act as a domain expert and use GenAI and agentic tools to improve execution and efficiency.

Experience Level

Senior-level β€” minimum 5 years of professional ASIC or digital design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and implement digital logic and microarchitecture from specifications.
  • Perform RTL design in SystemVerilog, run simulations, and support verification efforts.
  • Execute synthesis, static timing analysis, timing closure, and linting.
  • Lead top-level integration work including clocking and I/O, and address CDC issues.
  • Operate and optimize EDA tool flows to prepare designs for tapeout.
  • Leverage GenAI and agentic tools to automate tasks and increase team productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in design reviews and problem solving.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Hands-on experience with GenAI, including development of agentic MCP and skill-based tools.
  • Proficient with EDA tools and digital design flows: SystemVerilog, simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, and timing closure.
  • Experience with top-level integration, clock design, and I/O integration.
  • Familiarity with AI/LLMs and machine-learning concepts; experience with interfaces such as PCIe, NVMe, DRAM, NAND, and AXI is highly desirable.
  • Preferred knowledge: APR flow, DFT, LEC, CDC analysis, and linting.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
