Job Title
Spice Modeling Engineer
Role Summary
Develop, validate, and maintain SPICE/compact models and the associated automation and validation infrastructure for advanced process technologies. Work on model-to-hardware correlation, extraction methodologies, and cross-team technical alignment within the Process Design Kit (PDK) organization.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical experience indicated by the posting: Master's degree with 6+ years or PhD with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical ownership of models, automation, and cross-functional coordination.
- Own development and maintenance of SPICE model files for advanced process nodes, resolving technical trade-offs with extraction, technology, and library teams.
- Define and implement automation and QA strategies to improve validation coverage, efficiency, and scalability.
- Architect and optimize test structures for model-to-hardware correlation and parasitic extraction.
- Author documentation, guidelines, and training materials establishing modeling best practices.
- Define methodologies to extract model parameters from IV/CV data and represent the team during technical sign-off reviews.
- Collaborate with technology development, design engineering, and EDA partners on compact model strategy and process files.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the team's technical roadmap.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted.
- Substantial hands-on experience developing, validating, and driving sign-off of compact/SPICE models within a foundry/PDK environment.
- Proven experience with model-to-hardware correlation and parasitic extraction workflows.
- Strong Python scripting skills and experience building or owning modeling automation infrastructure.
- Ability to define extraction methodologies and modeling criteria for advanced process nodes.
- Experience presenting technical work to customers, cross-functional leadership, or external partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to align stakeholders on technical direction.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to technical roadmaps.
Education Requirements
