Role Summary
Develop high-performance software components for KLA's eBeam wafer inspection and review product line. Work with systems/hardware engineers, subject-matter experts and cross-functional teams to deliver production-quality solutions from prototype to shipped product.
Experience Level
Senior. The role expects multiple years of professional engineering experience (see Education Requirements for degree-to-experience mapping).
Responsibilities
The role focuses on designing, implementing and optimizing software for resource-intensive inspection systems.
- Analyze existing software for performance, throughput and reliability; diagnose and fix issues.
- Design and implement high-performance modules and hardware-interfacing code.
- Develop prototypes and evaluate new concepts and algorithms.
- Incorporate and optimize algorithms for resource-intensive workloads.
- Produce clear technical documentation and maintainable code; follow clean-coding practices.
- Collaborate with global teams across engineering, manufacturing and product groups.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
- Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills.
- Proficiency in C# (.NET) or C++ for production software development.
- Experience with performance tuning, profiling and low-level optimization.
- Ability to implement efficient algorithms for high-throughput systems.
- Experience troubleshooting complex software/hardware interactions.
- Good software documentation and code-quality practices; willingness to learn new technologies.
Education Requirements
Doctorate (Academic) degree with ~3 years related work experience; Master’s degree with ~6 years related work experience; Bachelor’s degree with ~8 years related work experience.
