Role Summary
Senior, customer-facing engineer responsible for defining, configuring, and deploying Design-for-Test (DFT) solutions for semiconductor customers. Works with product engineering, accounts, and R&D to ensure designs are testable at scale and to resolve tool flow issues.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor design, DFT engineering, or related domains.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical DFT solutions and support across customer engagements.
- Engage with customers to gather DFT requirements, constraints, and timelines and translate them into working solutions.
- Configure and deploy DFT tool flows, including scan insertion, ATPG, and verification.
- Deliver hands-on demos and proof-of-concept implementations tailored to customer designs.
- Develop automation and tool integrations using TCL, Python, or Perl to streamline workflows and reduce manual steps.
- Collaborate with account teams to align priorities and provide technical updates throughout engagements.
- Partner with R&D to reproduce issues, provide actionable feedback, and influence product roadmap decisions.
- Maintain current knowledge of DFT methodologies and emerging test strategies to keep solutions effective and scalable.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required; items listed as "Nice-to-have" are secondary.
- Must-have: 8β12 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor design, DFT engineering, or closely related roles.
- Must-have: Deep working knowledge of DFT methodologies, including scan insertion, ATPG, and DFT verification techniques.
- Must-have: Proficiency in scripting for automation and tool customization (TCL, Python, or Perl).
- Must-have: Demonstrated experience working directly with customers to gather technical requirements and deliver solutions.
- Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to diagnose complex tool or design issues.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with TestMAX Manager, TestMAX ATPG, Formality, VCS, or similar semiconductor tool flows.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience in product engineering, applications engineering, or technical solutions roles for semiconductor EDA tools.
Education Requirements
