Software Validation Automation Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Silicon and Platform Engineering Group (SPE) to integrate, validate, and debug software across the stack for a specific product, platform, or feature. The role designs and develops validation environments and automation to ensure product functionality and release readiness.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early Career — typically requires around 2+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validation environment development, test automation, and failure triage.

  • Integrate, validate, and debug software across the stack for assigned products or platforms.
  • Design and develop software validation environments and integration workflows.
  • Create validation plans, automation, methodologies, and test procedures.
  • Analyze test results, triage failures, and implement corrective actions.
  • Write and maintain validation standards and documentation.
  • Evaluate and adopt methods to improve test quality, automation, and release efficiency.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred skills listed separately.

  • Minimum ~2 years of experience in software engineering, integration, testing, or system engineering.
  • Experience with personal wireless technologies (Wi‑Fi and/or Bluetooth) including functional, performance, and interoperability verification.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS internals.
  • Proficiency in C#, Python, and C++.
  • This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
  • Role requires on-site presence in Hillsboro, OR.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with wireless product certification/qualification processes.
  • Knowledge of data science, data mining, machine learning, and database systems.
  • Experience with dashboarding and data visualization tools (for example Power BI).
  • Familiarity with customer and market needs in the wireless ecosystem.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering (preferred: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science) or another STEM-related degree.
