Software Quality Assurance Intern / Working Student

Role Summary

Working student in Software Quality Assurance supporting the DRAM Engineering Group (DEG) in Munich. The role focuses on validating features, finding defects early, and building automated test coverage for web-based tools used in semiconductor test engineering workflows.

You will collaborate with developers and the engineering team to execute tests, contribute to test plans, and help maintain CI/release readiness. This is a part-time, hands-on position with direct impact on tool quality and reliability.

Experience Level

Entry-level (working student / intern). Suitable for currently enrolled students or candidates at an early stage of their software testing career.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Execute functional, regression, and exploratory testing for web applications.
  • Develop and maintain automated tests at unit, integration, and end-to-end levels using modern test frameworks.
  • Document defects with reproducible steps and work with developers to resolve issues.
  • Contribute to acceptance criteria and test plans for feature releases.
  • Support CI pipeline health and release readiness activities.
  • Participate in code reviews and team quality discussions to improve testing practices.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript for test scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with Git and common development workflows.
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail; ability to identify edge cases and reproduce defects.
  • Good written and spoken English for collaboration across sites.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with test frameworks such as pytest, Playwright, Vitest, or Selenium.
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and database structures for backend validation.
  • Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in a university program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (working-student/internship status expected). Equivalent practical experience not specified.
