Role Summary

Join the QA team responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software. The role covers test planning, execution, defect identification, and collaboration with development, product, and support teams to deliver reliable releases.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities and tracking product quality through the development lifecycle.

• Define product quality expectations and create/execute test plans.
• Advocate and apply quality processes (inspections, requirements reviews, code coverage analysis).
• Test software to identify defects, limitations, and boundary conditions; document reproducible verification and validation steps.
• Monitor schedule predictability and report progress against project goals.
• Assess usability, functionality, reliability, and serviceability of features.
• Collaborate with global Engineering, QA, Product, Marketing, and Customer Support teams; coordinate with Release teams for quality releases.
• Review functional and design specifications and provide feedback on product and release documentation.

Requirements

Key skills and experience required or preferred for the role.

• Must-have: Basic experience in software testing and test automation.
• Must-have: Proficiency with Linux/Unix, Git, Bash, and scripting (Python, Tcl) and familiarity with defect tracking systems.
• Must-have: Ability to document verification/validation activities and communicate effectively with R&D and product stakeholders.
• Preferred: Experience with GUI testing.
• Preferred: Understanding of IC manufacturing processes and IC layout design.
• Preferred: Knowledge of software quality assurance processes and testing concepts; self-motivated with commitment to continuous learning.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
