Software Intern
Role Summary
Work on delay calculation and signal integrity (SI) analysis within a Static Timing Analysis tool. Implement and extend capabilities for circuit and interconnect delay and SI analysis for large-scale circuits, improve correlation to SPICE simulations, and model nanometer circuit effects.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Implement and extend algorithms for circuit and interconnect delay and SI analysis in C++.
- Develop, test, and optimize code for large-scale static timing analysis.
- Improve correlation of timing and SI analysis to SPICE simulations.
- Model nanometer circuit effects that impact delay and signal integrity.
- Work with multi-threaded code and apply performance optimizations.
- Validate results using numerical analysis and testing against benchmarks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate features into the tool.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Strong programming skills in C++ and familiarity with object-oriented design.
- Experience with multi-threaded programming and performance debugging.
- Knowledge of numerical analysis techniques and testing methodologies.
- Practical experience or coursework in delay calculation or signal integrity analysis preferred.
- Availability to work full time during the internship period.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience with static timing analysis tools or other EDA software.
- Experience correlating analysis models to SPICE or circuit simulators.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline (the posting specifies MS/PhD).
