Software Engineering Intern (Digital Signoff Group)
Role Summary
Join the Quantus Insight R&D team within Cadence's Digital & Signoff Group as a software engineering intern. Work on a next-generation parasitic analysis and debugging platform used by semiconductor engineers.
The role involves implementing product features, handling large-scale datasets, improving usability, and exploring automation and AI-assisted workflows under the guidance of experienced engineers.
Experience Level
Entry-level - Internship. Intended for current students or recent graduates participating in an internship program.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include contributing to product development and supporting engineering workflows:
- Implement and test product features used by semiconductor design engineers.
- Investigate and resolve software engineering problems involving large datasets, performance, and usability.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, debugging, and testing.
- Work on automation and AI-driven workflows for engineering tools.
- Collaborate with mentors and cross-functional team members to deliver working software.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- Experience programming in at least one modern language via coursework, projects, internships, or open-source contributions.
- Good understanding of fundamental programming concepts, algorithms, and data structures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to approach problems methodically.
- Curiosity, willingness to learn new technologies and domains quickly.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Modern C++ (C++17 or newer).
- Linux/Unix development experience.
- GUI development and user-experience considerations.
- Software architecture, performance optimization, or multithreaded programming experience.
- Familiarity with AI workflows or Electronic Design Automation (EDA) domains.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
