Role Summary

Internship position on a software engineering team focused on embedded firmware and development tools for semiconductor products. The role contributes to design, implementation, testing, and delivery of low-level software used to operate and validate chips.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Suitable for current undergraduate or graduate students; no specific years of professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities expected from the intern include design, coding, testing, and collaboration across engineering functions.

  • Design and implement embedded software and development/test tools for semiconductor products.
  • Write, debug, and optimize low-level firmware (primarily in C; some assembly-level work).
  • Create and execute software tests and verification activities; participate in debugging and validation on target hardware.
  • Work with hardware, systems, applications, marketing, and customer teams to define requirements and resolve issues.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle: design, implementation, code review, documentation, and delivery.
  • Report progress, meet project milestones, and adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements

Must-have

  • Proficient in C programming for embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with assembly language programming.
  • Understanding of software engineering processes and the full software development lifecycle.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree (bachelor's or master's) in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher is specified.
