Role Summary
Lead architecture and delivery of AI/ML and agentic AI solutions across Siemens EDA products. This strategic engineering leadership role defines technical architecture, governance, and platform standards to turn AI concepts into production-grade systems within electronic design automation workflows. The position works closely with engineering leaders, product management, AI researchers, and UX teams in a hybrid Austin, TX environment.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, platform architecture, cross-team collaboration, and production delivery of AI-enabled features.
- Define and drive technical architecture for AI/ML and Agentic AI across multiple products and teams.
- Design scalable AI platforms: LLMs, agent frameworks, vector databases, RAG, and related infrastructure.
- Establish architecture patterns, protocols, governance, and roadmaps for AI adoption.
- Lead design of intelligent agents for tool usage, automation, planning, and autonomous task execution.
- Architect end-to-end systems: data pipelines, model serving, observability, memory management, evaluation, and deployment.
- Evaluate and select models, frameworks, and infrastructure to meet product and business objectives.
- Collaborate with product, UX, research, and domain experts to deliver production-grade solutions.
- Mentor engineering teams on LLM architecture, prompt engineering, RAG systems, and AI standards.
- Ensure responsible AI practices: model evaluation, governance, security, privacy, and compliance.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience to succeed in this role; a short list of preferred qualifications follows.

Must-have: 12+ years industry experience; 4β8+ years focused on AI/ML and architecting enterprise-scale solutions from prototype to production.
- Proven expertise in LLM-based systems, agentic AI frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, and vector databases.
- Hands-on experience building AI agents/coplots that integrate with tools and external APIs; familiarity with agentic patterns (ReAct, plan-execute, multi-step reasoning).
- Proficiency in Python and strong software design, APIs, and clean code principles.
- Experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn; knowledge of deep learning models (transformers, neural networks).
- Practical skills in data preprocessing, feature engineering, model evaluation, and observability for ML systems.
- Familiarity with developer tooling and copilot-style integrations.
- Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, CLI and API design.

Nice-to-have: C/C++ proficiency, experience with code-understanding/AST tools, graph databases (Neo4j/FalkorDB), containerization (Docker), CI/CD, GPUs/parallelism, and background in digital design or EDA tools.
