Job Title

Software Engineer (VIP)

Role Summary

Join the verification IP team to design, implement, and maintain verification components used to validate high-speed interfaces and coherency protocols. The team develops Verification IP (VIP) and testbenches that help customers find design bugs earlier and faster.

The role focuses on building and improving verification IP for interfaces such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, DDR, LPDDR and coherency protocols like CXL, and on supporting deployment and troubleshooting with internal teams and customers.

Experience Level

Mid-level (approximately 2–6 years of relevant verification engineering experience).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include specification, implementation, verification, and customer support for verification IP and related verification infrastructure.

  • Specify, implement, test, and enhance verification IP for interfaces (e.g., PCIe Gen5/Gen6, USB3.2, 400GbE, DDR5, LPDDR5, CXL).
  • Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, BFMs, assertions, coverage models, loggers, and test plans.
  • Debug verification environments and resolve functional issues in collaboration with internal teams and customers.
  • Work with TMEs, Field AEs, and customers to deploy VIP and address customer-reported problems.
  • Contribute to verification methodology improvements and documentation of components and test plans.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Proven experience in verification engineering with strong practical knowledge of verification methodologies and workflows.
  • Proficiency in SystemVerilog and verification methodologies such as UVM and VMM.
  • Hands-on experience with assertions, functional coverage, BFM design, test plan creation, debug, and logging tools.
  • Familiarity with standard bus and storage protocols (examples: PCIe, USB, SATA, NVMe, Flash, DIMM) and protocol-level debugging.
  • Good teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to work with customers and field engineers to resolve issues.
  • Nice-to-have: prior exposure to specific high-speed generations (e.g., PCIe Gen5/Gen6), DDR5/LPDDR5, or 400GbE verification projects.

Education Requirements

Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related technical field (B.Tech/ M.Tech or equivalent) from a recognized institute. Related technical degrees or equivalent practical experience are acceptable.
