Role Summary
Senior software engineer on the Questa Sim R&D team within Siemens EDA, focused on architecting and implementing high-performance simulation technology for electronic design automation.
The role leads design and implementation of algorithms and production-quality components, collaborates with senior engineers, and partners with customers (including Mil-Aero) to deliver fit-for-purpose simulation flows.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 10+ years of professional software development experience, especially on complex engineering applications.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include delivering core simulation features, designing algorithms, and improving existing engines and codebases.
- Design and implement advanced algorithms and software architectures for simulation tools.
- Develop and enhance production-quality components, engines, and libraries.
- Diagnose and solve complex technical problems with scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Collaborate with a team of senior engineers to drive technical direction and delivery.
- Work directly with customers to define and implement fit-to-purpose technical flows.
- Maintain and improve existing codebases, including performance tuning and optimizations.
Requirements

- Must-have: 10+ years of professional software development experience on complex engineering applications.
- Must-have: Strong proficiency in C/C++ and solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
