Role Summary
Senior software engineer on the QuestaSim (Simulation) R&D team, responsible for architecting and delivering AI/ML and agentic-AI capabilities for simulation and verification tools. The role focuses on building production-grade systems that integrate large language models, agents, and data pipelines into EDA workflows.
Experience Level
Senior — demonstrated industry experience. Required: 2+ years of industry software engineering experience with at least 1 year in AI/ML-focused development.
Responsibilities
The role combines system architecture, implementation, and cross-functional collaboration to bring AI-driven features into EDA products.
- Architect and implement AI/ML and agentic AI solutions for design and verification tools.
- Design scalable AI platforms using LLMs, agent frameworks, vector databases, and RAG techniques.
- Develop intelligent agents/coplots that automate workflows, use external tools/APIs, and perform planning and reasoning.
- Define end-to-end AI system architecture: data pipelines, model serving, observability, memory management, and deployment.
- Evaluate and select models, frameworks, and infrastructure to meet product requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering leads, product managers, and domain experts to deliver production software.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience followed by preferred qualifications.
- Must-have: 2+ years industry software engineering experience; ≥1 year in AI/ML-focused development.
- Must-have: Experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions from concept to production.
- Must-have: Strong Python proficiency and practical experience with AI/ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn).
- Must-have: Deep knowledge of LLM-based systems, agentic AI frameworks, RAG architectures, and vector databases.
- Must-have: Experience building AI agents or copilots that interface with tools or external APIs.
- Must-have: Solid foundations in algorithms, data structures, and API design.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with code-understanding systems, AST analysis, or developer productivity tooling.
- Nice-to-have: Proficiency in C/C++; familiarity with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD.
- Nice-to-have: Background in digital design, SystemVerilog, EDA tools, compilers, parallelism, or GPU profiling.
