Senior Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join Qualcomm's Software Infrastructure team to develop internal tools and platforms that accelerate firmware development, chip characterization, test execution, SDK delivery, and GUIs for silicon validation and product engineering.

The role works closely with firmware, design verification, systems, silicon validation, product engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver tooling and infrastructure that support chip development and test workflows.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary engineering and infrastructure responsibilities include:

  • Full‑stack development (JavaScript frameworks such as React/Next.js, Node; Python; C/C++)
  • Develop and maintain databases and data schemas (MongoDB, PostgreSQL) to centralize test and chip data
  • Design and build GUIs and CLIs for internal silicon and firmware workflows
  • Build and operate CI/CD systems (GitLab/GitHub/Jenkins and custom systems)
  • Architect SDKs and regression infrastructure to support product lines and semiconductor IPs
  • Create automated regression and QA tools and performance visualization for silicon
  • Collect and analyze infrastructure data to define KPIs and drive improvements
  • Troubleshoot and triage issues arising from software updates and test execution
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and track execution using standard ticketing systems (Linear, Jira) and version control (Git)

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (education details are in Education Requirements):

  • Professional experience in software development using JavaScript (React, Redux), Node/Next.js, Python, and C/C++
  • Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL or similar databases
  • Familiarity with Linux, software deployment, CI/CD practices, and testing strategies
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Experience building command-line tools and web GUIs to automate workflows
  • Experience with Git and standard engineering collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Linear)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, troubleshoot complex issues, and document workflows
  • Creative, self-motivated, and results-driven attitude

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with hardware/firmware/software integration and multi-platform systems
  • Knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog
  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ethernet and PCIe
  • Experience contributing to or building open-source projects

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software engineering experience; OR a Master's degree in a related field plus 1+ year of experience; OR a PhD in a related field. The posting also allows equivalent practical experience in place of a degree.
