Software Engineer (SAV)

Role Summary

Develop and validate virtual platforms used for customer hardware design, working across firmware, embedded software, the Linux kernel, and hardware protocols.

Work on platform-level validation and verification alongside multi-functional teams to diagnose issues, propose fixes, and ensure accurate system behavior.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” typically 1–3 years of hands-on C/C++ development experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain virtual platform validation components in C/C++.
  • Analyze and debug system-level issues across firmware, the Linux kernel, and hardware interfaces.
  • Design and execute validation and verification workflows to ensure accurate platform behavior.
  • Write automation and debugging scripts (e.g., Python, Bash) to support validation efforts.
  • Communicate technical findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive issue resolution.
  • Document test results, reproduce issues reliably, and implement corrective changes.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical qualifications.

  • Must-have: 1–3 years of hands-on C/C++ development experience.
  • Must-have: Experience with the Linux kernel and its interaction with hardware or communication protocols.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with verification or validation methodologies and system-level debugging.
  • Must-have: Ability to use scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation and debugging.
  • Must-have: Understanding of compiler toolchains and development tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with ARM TrustZone, secure boot workflows, or OVMF/embedded firmware development.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with high-speed interfaces and verification IPs (PCIe, USB3.2, 400GbE, DDR5, LPDDR5, CXL).
  • Nice-to-have: Customer-facing experience and interest or knowledge in IC design.
