Software Engineer – Real Time Drivers

Role Summary

Develop embedded low-level software drivers for NXP automotive platforms, implementing AUTOSAR and non-AUTOSAR requirements. Deliver requirements, design, configuration, code and tests as part of a Bucharest-based software development team.

The role involves collaborating with hardware, documentation and customer engineers to validate and optimize products.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain requirements, design, architecture, configuration, code and tests for device drivers.
  • Plan, design and implement new low-level software solutions to meet customer requirements and improve performance.
  • Develop demonstrations and validation artifacts for software and hardware features.
  • Diagnose and debug embedded targets and low-level software; collaborate with hardware and customer teams.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Proficient in ANSI C programming for embedded systems.
  • Understanding of CPU/computer architecture and low-level software concepts.
  • Experience debugging embedded targets and low-level drivers.
  • Fluent English (spoken and written); Romanian language knowledge required.
  • Reliable, security-conscious working practices (may handle security-related tasks and security certification scope).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with AUTOSAR and automotive or general-purpose communication protocols.
  • Familiarity with ARM architecture.
  • Experience with makefiles and scripting languages.
