Role Summary

Work in the QuestaSim R&D team within Siemens EDA to design and implement core algorithms and software architecture for simulation and verification tools. Deliver production-quality components, build new engines, and maintain existing code in a hybrid Bangalore-based R&D environment.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include algorithm development, software design, and collaborating with senior engineers to deliver production-quality EDA components.

• Design and implement core algorithms and system architecture for QuestaSim.
• Develop production-quality software and new engine components; maintain and support existing codebases.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate features, optimize performance, and ensure production readiness.
• Apply compiler concepts and optimizations to improve tool behavior and performance.
• Identify technical risks, propose solutions, and drive features to completion.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and solid understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• Familiarity with compiler concepts and optimization techniques.
• Experience working on UNIX/Linux platforms.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work independently and guide others.
• Experience developing production-grade software in large codebases.

Nice-to-have:

• Understanding of basic digital electronics concepts.
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI algorithms and their implementation in data-driven tasks.
• Proficiency in hardware description languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL).
• Experience with parallel algorithms, job distribution techniques, simulation, or formal verification methodologies.

Education Requirements

B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Electrical Engineering (EE), or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) from a reputable engineering institution (as stated in the posting).
