Software Engineer - Physical Implementation

Role Summary

Develop and maintain software for physical implementation tools within the product portfolio. Work on complex algorithms and C/C++ code to deliver high-quality, performant features and solve challenging technical problems.

Join an R&D team in a hybrid environment focused on shipping reliable software and improving tool performance and scalability.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically 3–5 years of relevant professional experience is expected.

Responsibilities

Own technical implementation and contribute across design, development, and delivery of product features. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and modify software components for physical implementation workflows.
  • Create, document, and execute software designs that may span multiple product areas.
  • Ensure code quality: performance, scalability, testability, and adherence to standards.
  • Debug complex software stacks and resolve defects across layers of the product.
  • Work in Agile teams; collaborate with peers and stakeholders to deliver on schedule.
  • Provide technical leadership on assigned projects and solve complex engineering problems with minimal supervision.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Proven experience with complex algorithms, multi-threading, and advanced data structures.
  • Strong C++ skills, including advanced language features and object‑oriented design.
  • Familiarity with object‑oriented software architecture and software design principles.
  • Experience debugging complex software stacks using tools such as Visual Studio and GDB.
  • Familiarity with build and installation tools (example: Subversion, AntHillPro).
  • Collaborative mindset and demonstrated commitment to code quality and testability.

Nice-to-have:

  • Some experience with ECAD systems.

Education Requirements

Advanced degree (MS or PhD) or foreign academic equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The role expects roughly 3–5 years of progressive related experience in addition to the degree.
