Product Power Engineer
Role Summary
Work across architecture, RTL, implementation and silicon teams to collect, analyze, and optimize power for SiFive IP and products. Deliver power models, correlate measurements to RTL and silicon, and guide design trade-offs to meet power-efficiency targets.
Experience Level
Mid-level - requires 5+ years of experience in power benchmarking, analysis, and modeling.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on power analysis, modeling, and design guidance across multiple stages of product development.
- Collect and analyze IP and block-level power consumption data.
- Develop and validate power models; correlate models with RTL and silicon measurements.
- Advise architecture and microarchitecture teams on power/performance trade-offs.
- Identify and implement optimizations to improve power-efficiency.
- Improve and automate power-analysis flows and methodologies.
- Collaborate with implementation, verification, and system teams to ensure power goals are met.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in power benchmarking, analysis, and modeling.
- Experience analyzing power impacts at architecture, logic, and circuit levels.
- Strong knowledge of high-performance out-of-order CPU microarchitecture.
- Experience with ASIC power analysis and optimization flows.
- Proven ability to guide design trade-offs between performance and power.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
- Nice-to-have: hands-on HW (RTL/implementation/FPGA/verification/backend) or SW development experience to support correlation and validation activities.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Architecture.
