Software Engineer, Performance Lab and Tools
Role Summary
Join the Windows DevOps and Test Labs (WDTL) software team to build and maintain systems, tools, and infrastructure that support verification of NVIDIA DirectX drivers across a broad GPU lineup. The role focuses on operating an automated test lab, improving test automation, and supporting early hardware validation.
Experience Level
Mid-level β requires at least 3 years of relevant software development or lab engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include operating the test lab, developing tooling and verification infrastructure, and supporting pre-release hardware validation.
- Maintain and operate automated test machines: system imaging, hardware triage, network configuration, and infrastructure uptime
- Build tools and systems to support automated testing and engineering workflows
- Improve driver verification infrastructure to accelerate and increase effectiveness of automated tests
- Support hardware bringup and coordinate early driver validation on pre-release GPU silicon
- Troubleshoot and resolve OS- and hardware-level issues across the lab environment
- Apply DevOps practices to improve system reliability, deployment, and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy testing and automation on Windows platforms
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Minimum 3+ years professional software development or related engineering experience
- Proficiency in a scripting language such as Perl, PHP, or Python
- Application development experience in C# or a similar compiled language (C++, Java, Go)
- Knowledge of Windows operating system internals (kernel, drivers, registry, imaging, deployment)
- Experience with source control systems
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with databases, SQL, or full-stack development
- Experience with tools development and automated test frameworks
- Experience with hardware product bringup or pre-release silicon validation
- Experience automating Windows image creation and deployment for test environments
- Hands-on experience managing or maintaining a lab environment of physical test machines
Education Requirements
B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
