Software Engineer, Performance Lab and Tools

Role Summary

Join the WDTL (Windows Driver Test Lab) software team to build and maintain systems, tools, and infrastructure that verify DirectX drivers across NVIDIA GPU families. The role combines development of automation and verification tools with hands-on lab operations to keep a fleet of test machines healthy and ready for driver validation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on building test infrastructure, operating the automated lab, and supporting early hardware bring-up and driver validation.

  • Design, build, and maintain tools and systems to support automated testing and improve engineering workflows.
  • Develop and improve driver verification infrastructure to speed and increase effectiveness of automated tests.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of an automated test lab: system imaging, hardware triage, network configuration, and uptime.
  • Support hardware bring-up and early driver validation on pre-release silicon.
  • Diagnose and resolve OS- and hardware-level issues affecting the test environment.
  • Collaborate with multiple business units to deploy testing and automation on Windows platforms.
  • Apply DevOps practices to improve systems and processes.
  • Explore and apply AI-enabled automation tools to increase engineering productivity.
  • Work as part of a distributed team of engineers and coordinate cross-team testing efforts.

Must-have

  • Minimum 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Perl, PHP, or Python.
  • Application development experience in a compiled language (C# preferred; C++, Java, Go acceptable).
  • Experience with source control systems.

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with databases, SQL, or full-stack development.
  • Experience building tools, services, or automation frameworks and automated test frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware product bring-up or pre-release silicon validation.
  • Experience using AI tools to assist software engineering or automation.

Education Requirements

B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
