Software Engineer, Linux Graphics

Role Summary

Join the Linux Graphics driver team to design and implement features for Vulkan, OpenGL and Wayland on Linux-based systems. The role focuses on architecture, development, testing automation, performance tuning, and maintaining driver quality across current and upcoming GPU hardware.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” typically requires 3+ years of relevant professional experience in graphics system software.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include feature development, maintenance, and collaboration across engineering teams to deliver high-quality Linux graphics software.

  • Define, design, implement, and automate Linux Vulkan and OpenGL graphics software features.
  • Develop and maintain software that enables and supports NVIDIA GPU hardware on Linux platforms.
  • Optimize performance and ensure cross-platform feature quality.
  • Collaborate with test automation to identify regressions and maintain driver stability.
  • Coordinate with global teams including software, hardware, architecture, and OEM support.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills.

  • 3+ years hands-on experience developing graphics system-level software, especially for Linux.
  • 3+ years programming experience in C and C++.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Linux gaming development.
  • Low-level Linux OS knowledge (memory/resource management, scheduling, process control).
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering β€” or equivalent practical experience.
