Software Engineer II: Hardware Verification Compiler
Role Summary
Join the Front-End Compiler team within the Hardware System Verification Group in Belo Horizonte. Develop compiler technologies and runtime support that enable hardware-assisted verification platforms such as Palladium and Protium.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically requires 3+ years of professional software or compiler development experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement maintainable, high-quality C/C++ code for an HDL language-based compiler and runtime.
- Develop and maintain the SystemVerilog compiler front-end.
- Improve compiler performance, infrastructure, and engineering flows.
- Support integration with RTL simulation/synthesis and runtime environments.
- Collaborate with cross-geography teams to contribute to product enhancements.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Proficient in C/C++ programming.
- Practical experience in compiler design and implementation.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills and knowledge of advanced data structures and algorithms.
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
- Very good spoken and written English and Portuguese.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with version control systems.
- Familiarity with scripting (Tcl or Python).
- Knowledge or experience with formal verification and/or simulation.
- Exposure to EDA or VLSI design and HDL languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is specified (the posting indicates a Bachelor's with ~3+ years experience). A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering is also listed as an option.
