Software Engineer II: AI Inhouse Adoption

Role Summary

The Software Engineer II will join the Hardware Systems Verification (HSV) Software team in Belo Horizonte to develop and deploy AI-enabled tools and workflows that improve engineering productivity for emulation and prototyping platforms.

The role focuses on integrating LLM/agent-based capabilities into internal engineering infrastructure, building automation and services, and ensuring secure, responsible deployment of AI within verification workflows.

Experience Level

Mid-level (Software Engineer II). Preferred: 2+ years of software development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing AI-enabled tooling, integrating solutions with engineering systems, and supporting engineering users.

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain AI-enabled tools, environments, and workflows for HSV engineering teams.
  • Build internal utilities, automation scripts, and services to expose AI capabilities to engineers.
  • Integrate AI solutions with development environments, source repositories, internal knowledge sources, and enterprise platforms.
  • Implement LLM/agent concepts for knowledge retrieval, task automation, tool calling, and workflow orchestration.
  • Design guardrails, access controls, and secure development environments to protect proprietary code, data, and engineering knowledge.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to engineering users.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 2+ years of software development experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python.
  • Experience developing internal tools, automation, services, or engineering productivity solutions.
  • Understanding of LLM concepts, AI agents, prompt engineering, tool calling, and RAG-based workflows.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments.
  • Very good spoken and written English and Portuguese.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and support engineering users.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience integrating AI with CI/CD systems, enterprise platforms, internal knowledge bases, or access-control systems.
  • Familiarity with AI evaluation, benchmarking, model-quality metrics, vector databases, embeddings, or AI-based knowledge retrieval.
  • Experience with orchestration/agent frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, LangGraph, AutoGen, or similar.
  • Experience with additional languages (C++, TCL) or knowledge of EDA, VLSI design, verification, emulation (Palladium), or prototyping (Protium) workflows.

Education Requirements

Complete bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
