Job Title

Software Engineer II β€” FastSPICE Simulation (SpectreFX)

Role Summary

R&D software engineer on the SpectreFX FastSPICE simulation team. Contribute to design, implementation, and performance optimization of circuit simulation features and algorithms used in mixed-signal and RF flows.

Work with global engineering teams to analyze product issues, propose implementation plans, and deliver production-quality solutions for EDA simulation products.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical expectation: ~2+ years of professional experience in C/C++ development or an MS in a relevant field; strong new graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include software development, algorithm implementation, and product problem analysis.

  • Design and implement simulation features and performance improvements for FastSPICE/SpectreFX.
  • Develop and maintain production-quality C/C++ code on Unix/Linux platforms.
  • Analyze and diagnose product issues; propose and execute fixes or architectural changes.
  • Profile and optimize algorithms and data structures for simulation performance and memory usage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to integrate features into product releases.
  • Review code, contribute to technical design reviews, and write clear technical documentation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and abilities; concise list of desirable additions follows.

  • Strong C/C++ software engineering experience in a Unix/Linux environment (production code).
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, adapt, and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience debugging complex systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration in a global engineering context.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with circuit simulation concepts (SPICE, FastSPICE), RF or mixed-signal simulation, or prior EDA experience.

Education Requirements

BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics plus ~2 years of relevant C/C++ and EDA development experience, OR MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. Fresh graduates with strong relevant backgrounds are welcome to apply.
