Software Engineer, Frameworks
Role Summary
Responsible for testing and validation of Ethernovia's software stack, working closely with design and hardware validation teams to create, run and automate test cases, plans and tools for safety-critical automotive and edge products.
Team builds test infrastructure and validation flows across applications, middleware, drivers, firmware and hardware integration. Multiple positions based in Pune, India; remote work considered case-by-case but willingness to relocate to Pune is highly desirable.
Experience Level
Mid-level to Senior. Typical guidance: Mid-level ~3 years of relevant experience; Senior ~7 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include test design, automation, and validation across software and hardware boundaries.
- Design, implement, run and maintain test cases and test plans for applications, middleware, drivers and firmware.
- Build and maintain test infrastructure, automation frameworks, and test utilities.
- Integrate and validate open-source middleware, libraries and drivers with product software.
- Collaborate with hardware validation and design teams for system-level testing and integration.
- Process and analyze test results, identify defects, document findings and present outcomes to stakeholders.
- Operate and improve CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling (e.g., Jenkins) for continuous testing.
- Follow and contribute to functional safety and automotive-quality development practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by concise nice-to-have items.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, including architecture, implementation and testing fundamentals.
- Proficient in Python with a minimum of ~2 years of practical experience.
- Experience integrating and testing middleware, libraries and drivers.
- Experience building test infrastructure, automation and test utilities.
- Exposure to software and hardware validation and system-level testing.
- Experience with software testing across applications, middleware, drivers and firmware.
- Familiarity with CI/automation tooling such as Jenkins.
- Soft skills: self-motivated, strong communication and documentation skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in an automotive validation environment and familiarity with Functional Safety processes.
- Experience with C/C++, SQL, networking test tools (e.g., IXIA), automated test platforms (e.g., TestRail).
- Experience with version control and collaboration tools (Git/Perforce, JIRA, Confluence) and meta-languages (JSON, XML).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
