Role Summary

Develop and maintain core DFM and PCB manufacturing software components implemented in C/C++. Work on geometry-heavy problems and deliver production-ready, maintainable solutions for manufacturability analysis, rule checking, compensation, optimization, and feature transformation.

The role sits on a software engineering team collaborating with domain experts and product owners to produce reliable, high-performance tools for PCB/EDA manufacturing workflows.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, implementation, and maintenance of production software for PCB/DFM workflows.

• Design, implement, and maintain core DFM software modules in C/C++ for PCB manufacturing and geometry processing.
• Build and enhance algorithms for manufacturability analysis, rule checking, compensation, optimization, and feature transformation.
• Translate manufacturing engineering requirements into robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
• Work on geometry-intensive domains: spacing, clearance, etch compensation, via/pad handling, signal optimization, copper/surface processing, etc.
• Improve performance, stability, and quality of a large, long-lived production codebase.
• Debug complex algorithmic, data-handling, and workflow integration issues and deliver durable fixes.
• Collaborate with domain experts, product teams, and other engineers to define requirements and validate behavior.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, testability improvements, and engineering stack modernization.
• Investigate and resolve edge cases and customer-impacting issues with root-cause analysis and reliable delivery.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for the role.

• 5+ years professional software development experience with strong hands-on C and/or C++ skills.
• Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and software design for performance-sensitive systems.
• Proven experience developing or maintaining complex engineering software, algorithmic systems, or geometry-intensive applications.
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills in large codebases; ability to isolate root causes and deliver long-term solutions.
• Familiarity with software quality practices: unit testing, regression analysis, code review, and controlled release processes.
• Experience working across legacy systems and evolving architectures; ability to balance product continuity and technical improvement.
• Preferred / Nice-to-have: experience with computational geometry, rule-based processing, CAD/CAM/EDA systems, PCB/DFM/CAM or manufacturing engineering software.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field (as specified in the posting).
