Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and integrate software components for semiconductor products, focusing on microcontrollers, processors and SoC platforms. Work with cross-functional teams and customers to design, implement, test and document firmware, middleware and system-level software for consumer, industrial and automotive applications.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include software design, system integration, performance optimization and customer support.

  • Design, develop, test and document software and system-level applications and enhancements.
  • Integrate microcontrollers, processors and development platforms into target applications.
  • Provide hardware and software technical support to partners and customers; perform system-level debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare application notes, design documentation, specifications, procedures and experimental results.
  • Benchmark, profile and optimize software for performance and low power consumption.
  • Contribute to firmware and middleware architecture and port open-source or commercial frameworks.
  • Create demos, evaluation materials and technical training content.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and analyze software impact on next-generation SoC designs.
  • Travel: up to 10% domestic and 5% international.

Requirements

Minimum job requirements focus on practical embedded software and system integration experience, plus strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Demonstrated experience integrating software with hardware and solving system-level issues.
  • Experience optimizing software for performance and low power on embedded platforms.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and training materials.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving and testing skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting customers on technical issues.

Education Requirements

Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field (or foreign equivalent). The position requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, internship or thesis involving developing, debugging and testing embedded software; programming/compiling/debugging in C, Python or Bash; Embedded Linux; cross-compilation; microprocessor system design; computer architecture; and use of Jira.
