Software Engineer
Role Summary
The Software Engineer will design and implement scalable, high-performance distributed software for semiconductor inspection and diagnostics systems in the Optical Diagnostics and Control (ODC) business unit.
Work includes system architecture, developing services running on Linux and Kubernetes, and collaborating with algorithms, systems, and architecture teams to deliver production software.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically requires about 5+ years of professional software development experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include:
- Design and develop scalable, high-performance software for inspection systems.
- Build and maintain distributed services on Linux and Kubernetes.
- Drive system architecture and technical design decisions.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of major features and cross-functional initiatives.
- Collaborate with Software, Algorithms, Systems, and Architecture teams.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly and validate AI-generated solutions.
- Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability of systems.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Java, Linux, and Kubernetes.
- Proven experience delivering complex software systems from design through production.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, networking, and multithreaded applications.
- Demonstrated ownership, technical leadership, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to drive solutions independently.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with LLMs, AI agents, prompt engineering, or AI-assisted development workflows.
- Experience with automation frameworks, CI/CD tools, and developer productivity platforms.
- Background in semiconductor equipment, inspection, metrology, or related domains.
- Experience with machine learning, computer vision, or image processing.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
