Role Summary

Join the QuestaSim (Simulation) R&D team to design and implement algorithms and production-quality software for industry-leading simulation tools. Work with senior engineers to maintain and improve existing codebases and deliver reliable simulation components and engines.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Associate β€” typically 1–3 years of software development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on development, problem solving, and delivery of simulation software:

  • Design and implement algorithms, modules, and architectures for simulation tools.
  • Develop and enhance production-quality components and engines; refactor and support legacy codebases.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to solve complex software problems and meet project milestones.
  • Write efficient, maintainable code and perform code reviews and debugging on UNIX/Linux platforms.
  • Define and implement solutions for open-ended problems; own features from design through delivery.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints, followed by preferred qualifications.

  • Must-have: 1–3 years of software development experience.
  • Must-have: Strong proficiency in C/C++, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Must-have: Expertise in compiler concepts and optimizations.
  • Must-have: Experience developing and debugging on UNIX and/or Linux platforms.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and take ownership.
  • Requirement: Employment is subject to U.S. export control laws (ITAR/EAR); candidates must be U.S. Persons or able to obtain an export license as required.
  • Nice-to-have: Basic knowledge of digital electronics and SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL concepts.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with parallel algorithms, job distribution techniques, or simulation/formal verification methods.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution. (The posting also implies degree-equivalent practical experience may be considered.)
