Job Title

Senior Modeling Architect

Role Summary

Develop functional models and simulators for switch hardware blocks and subsystems to evaluate and influence next-generation switch architectures. Work at the intersection of hardware architecture and software to provide architects and design teams with models and simulation infrastructure that guide design decisions.

This role is autonomous and cross-functional: you will define modeling strategy, build toolchains, and collaborate with architecture, design, and verification teams to refine system-level behavior.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 10+ years of hands-on experience in chip design, verification/validation, RTL simulation, firmware, or embedded software.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include building models, defining methodology, and driving modeling features end-to-end.

  • Design and implement functional models and simulators for switch hardware blocks and subsystems.
  • Develop simulation infrastructure and toolchains for architecture exploration and evaluation.
  • Define modeling strategy, coverage, and methodology for new switch architectures.
  • Drive modeling features from specification through delivery with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, and verification teams to align system-level behavior and interfaces.
  • Take technical ownership and provide leadership across teams on modeling matters.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred technical qualifications.

  • Must-have: 10+ years of practical experience in chip design, verification/validation, RTL simulation, firmware, or embedded software.
  • Must-have: Intimate knowledge of chip design and verification flows and strong understanding of SW–HW integration across components.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills; ability to work independently.
  • Nice-to-have: Deep hands-on experience with networking protocols.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with UVM or other verification methodologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with modern C++ and object-oriented design.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with SystemC, TLM, or other hardware modeling frameworks.

Education Requirements

BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
