Digital Design Verification Trainee
Role Summary
Join the Digital Design group within the Signal Integrity Product Business Unit to perform verification and contribute to the development of digital subsystems inside mixed-signal ICs. Work in a cross-functional team of digital, analog, firmware and system engineers to meet project milestones and product requirements.
Hands-on trainee role providing exposure to definition, design, verification and implementation of digital silicon.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Trainee). No specific years of experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Functional verification of high-speed digital circuits using constrained-random verification methodologies (≈50%).
- Behavioral modeling of analog circuits and mixed-level analog/digital simulation (≈10%).
- Produce product and technical documentation (≈5%).
- Prepare project plans and schedules (≈2%).
- Provide technical guidance for verification tasks within the project team (≈5%).
- Collaborate with analog, firmware, system, validation, test and product engineers to meet customer and performance requirements (≈13% combined).
- Provide mentorship and leadership to other engineers (≈5%).
- Drive continual improvement of verification methodology and productivity (≈10%).
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Basic knowledge of constrained-random verification using UVM, OVM, AVM, or VMM.
- Basic experience with object-oriented hardware languages; SystemVerilog preferred.
- Experience with scripting/programming languages such as Python, TCL, Perl, or C.
- Familiarity with PC and Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of digital verification methods and behavioral modeling.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams; well organized and detail oriented; able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
