Role Summary

Develop AI and machine learning software for semiconductor inspection, metrology, and process control systems. Work with algorithm, software, and product teams to design, train, validate, deploy, and optimize ML models and production inference pipelines for high-performance equipment.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Candidates range from entry experience (0 years with an advanced degree) to several years of engineering experience (e.g., ~2+ years with a Bachelor's), depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include designing, implementing, and integrating AI/ML solutions into production semiconductor equipment.

• Design, develop, and deploy ML/DL algorithms for inspection, metrology, and process-control tasks.
• Build and optimize models using large-scale engineering and manufacturing datasets.
• Develop software for model training, validation, deployment, and inference workflows.
• Collaborate with algorithm, software, application, and product teams to integrate AI capabilities.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and produce proofs-of-concept for new product capabilities.
• Improve performance and scalability via parallel computing, GPU acceleration, and efficient architectures.
• Contribute to cloud-enabled and edge-deployed AI solutions for equipment platforms.
• Maintain software quality, reliability, and maintainability in production environments.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Preferred items are listed separately.

• Must-have: Strong programming experience in Python and C++.
• Experience developing and deploying machine learning or deep learning solutions (training and production inference).
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, software engineering principles, and object-oriented design.
• Experience with Linux development environments and development tools.
• Experience building software systems that support model training, validation, deployment, and inference workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience optimizing performance for scalability (parallel/GPU, memory, compute-efficient designs).

• Nice-to-have: Computer vision or image-processing experience.
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• GPU programming experience (CUDA or similar).
• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing, metrology, inspection, or process-control applications.
• Exposure to MLOps, cloud computing, distributed systems, or large-scale data platforms.
• Experience productizing AI solutions in a commercial software environment.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field is listed as the primary qualification (Master's level degree with 0 years of related work experience).
