Job Title

Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain software for next-generation wafer inspection tools within a product engineering team. Work across architecture, design, requirements, implementation, testing, and support to deliver reliable software for semiconductor metrology systems.

Collaborate with hardware, systems, quality, and global site teams to integrate features, troubleshoot issues, and resolve escalations.

Experience Level

Entry-level — typical expectation: Bachelor's degree with ~3 years' professional software development experience, or Master's degree with ~1 year.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, implementation, testing, and field support of software for wafer inspection products.

  • Design, implement, and maintain software components using C++ and C#/.NET on Windows 64-bit platforms.
  • Prepare software requirements and design documents; participate in design reviews.
  • Implement unit tests, perform software performance analysis, and resolve defects.
  • Work with hardware and systems groups to map system requirements to software design and integration.
  • Deploy, troubleshoot, and support current products at customer sites as needed.
  • Collaborate with global, multi-site teams through the software product lifecycle (requirements, coding, integration, testing).
  • Document algorithms, design artifacts, and collaborate with quality engineers on test case development and execution.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for day-one productivity.

  • Proficiency in C++ and/or C# and the .NET Framework; experience with Microsoft Visual Studio for development.
  • Experience with Windows 64-bit internals, STL, and debugging tools (e.g., WinDBG).
  • Strong software architecture and design skills using modular design, OOP, and OOD principles.
  • Hands-on multi-threaded programming experience on Windows platforms.
  • Experience writing unit tests and collaborating on test case development and execution.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with distributed teams.
  • Nice-to-have: GUI development with .NET/.NET Core, semiconductor process experience, and familiarity with performance tuning for real-time inspection systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
