The Senior Firmware Engineer will develop embedded software for Semidynamics' semiconductor products within the Firmware Team. The role focuses on low-level firmware and driver development to enable and validate new silicon features.

The engineer will collaborate with hardware, software, and validation teams to deliver reliable firmware that integrates with system software and production flows.

Responsibilities

Responsible for design, implementation, and verification of low-level firmware and drivers, and for collaborating across engineering teams to ensure successful product integration.

• Design and implement embedded firmware and device drivers.
• Verify firmware functionality and support firmware validation activities.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and system teams to integrate firmware with silicon and system software.
• Develop and maintain debug and development flows for embedded platforms.
• Contribute to CI and automation for firmware builds and tests.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Experience with Linux and kernel/driver development and with PCIe devices.
• Practical knowledge of dynamic thermal management (DTM).
• Familiarity with embedded development and debug tools, compilers (clang, gcc), and linkers.
• Experience in low-level embedded firmware development.
• Strong programming and scripting skills (C/C++, assembler, Python, Perl, Bash).
• Experience developing and deploying automation flows and working with CI systems.
• Experience with software quality assurance practices (SQA).
• Knowledge of revision control systems (git, svn).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills; ability to meet project deadlines.

Nice-to-have:

• Knowledge of RISC-V and processor/SoC architectures.
• Familiarity with JIRA.
