Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and optimize production-grade software components for Siemens' Calibre products used in computational geometry, high-performance computing (HPC), and semiconductor manufacturing. Work on performance-critical features that run on parallel and GPU-accelerated platforms.

Collaborate with product management, QA, customer support, and cross-functional engineering teams to meet functional, performance, and delivery requirements.

Experience Level

Entry-level — approximately 2 years of relevant software engineering experience is expected.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design, implement, and maintain software for computational geometry and semiconductor manufacturing workflows (Calibre product family).
• Develop and optimize algorithms and advanced data structures for optical proximity correction (OPC) and related domains.
• Ensure functional quality and performance across HPC and parallel GPU platforms.
• Integrate, test, and debug software in production-like environments to meet performance and reliability targets.
• Coordinate with product management, QA, marketing, and customer support on specifications, testing, and delivery schedules.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• Experience with GPU programming frameworks.
• Familiarity with software development tools such as Git and Make.
• Experience designing and implementing parallel processing software architectures.
• Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot software in production or production-like environments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is accepted. The employer also accepts equivalent practical experience; the position requires approximately 24 months of relevant experience.
