Job Title

Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Advanced Packaging and Technology Manufacturing Group to develop software tools and automation that accelerate engineering workflows for advanced packaging and silicon enablement. The role focuses on building AI/ML-enabled software, integrating models into production systems, and collaborating with engineering and research teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early-career. The role expects approximately 1+ years of relevant experience designing, deploying, or maintaining AI/ML production systems.

Responsibilities

Develop, integrate, and maintain software and AI/ML capabilities that improve engineering productivity and automation.

  • Design, implement, test, and deploy software tools and automation for engineering workflows.
  • Apply end-to-end AI/ML techniques to add predictive features, data-driven automation, and workflow optimization.
  • Build and integrate ML models, embeddings, semantic search, and RAG-style features into applications.
  • Develop production-quality code, backend services, APIs, and scalable systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate new ML technologies, prototype solutions, and iterate on designs in a research-driven environment.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and performance, security, and reliability improvements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, security eligibility, and experience to be considered for the role.

  • Must-have: U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a US Government TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
  • Must-have: 1+ years experience designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, reliable AI/ML production systems.
  • Must-have: Strong programming skills in one or more of: C++ (preferred), Python, or C#; solid foundations in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering.
  • Experience integrating ML models into software, including inference and production deployment.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud platforms, REST/gRPC APIs, or serverless deployments.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with EDA tools, generative AI/LLM solutions (prompt engineering, embeddings, vector DBs, semantic search, RAG), and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with distributed systems, performance optimization, security/privacy practices, large-scale data pipelines or streaming technologies (Spark, Databricks, Kafka), CI/CD, and cloud-native development.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field. A Master's degree in those fields is preferred. Minimum qualifications may be met through a combination of work experience, internships, coursework, or research (equivalent practical experience considered).
