Role Summary
The Software Engineer develops, validates, and supports embedded software and related development tools for TI products. The role covers requirements, design, implementation, testing, integration, release management, and customer support, and collaborates with silicon, hardware, product, and customer teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include delivering embedded software and tools, supporting pre-silicon validation, and maintaining product quality and releases.
- Define requirements and design, develop, test, integrate, and support embedded firmware, device drivers, software frameworks, and algorithmic libraries.
- Develop and maintain software development tools (compilers, simulators, IDEs) and supporting artifacts.
- Support pre-silicon software design, validation, and hardware-software integration; influence hardware architecture from a software perspective.
- Apply machine-learning algorithms to edge applications where applicable.
- Perform quality assurance, configuration, and release management.
- Create and maintain customer-facing software collateral and documentation.
- Collaborate across silicon, hardware, software teams and engage with customers for issue resolution and support.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred skills listed separately.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong embedded firmware development skills and experience.
- Proficiency in Assembly, C, and C++.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of software engineering processes and the full software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate across functions.
- Time-management skills and ability to deliver on schedule in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree).
