Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Penang Factory Applications Team as an FPGA design applications engineer focused on video IPs and high-speed serial interfaces. You will support customers and field teams to enable, optimize, validate, and document FPGA-based video connectivity solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level — minimum 5 years of experience in digital design and FPGA development, with hands-on exposure to high-speed serial video interfaces.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities center on customer enablement, technical troubleshooting, and ensuring successful deployment of video interface solutions.

• Advise customers and field teams on implementing and optimizing FPGA designs for video connectivity (DisplayPort, MIPI, HDMI).
• Diagnose and lead resolution of complex customer issues; coordinate across internal teams to close issues promptly.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, example designs, and user guides to accelerate adoption.
• Validate video IP examples and hardware platforms to improve out-of-box experience.
• Collaborate with engineering and marketing to align customer requirements with product capabilities and roadmap.
• Drive issue resolution so customers can evaluate and deploy solutions successfully.

Requirements

• Must-have: Minimum ~5 years of experience in digital design and FPGA development with practical experience on video protocols and high-speed serial interfaces (DisplayPort, MIPI, HDMI).
• Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to drive complex technical issues to resolution.
• Must-have: Excellent verbal and written communication in English and experience working with internal teams and customers.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with VHDL/Verilog, design verification, timing closure, and simulation.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with software environments and build systems (for example Yocto) or robotics middleware (ROS).
• Nice-to-have: Board- and hardware-level debugging experience and familiarity with validating hardware platforms and IP examples.

Education Requirements

BSEE or MSEE preferred, or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
