Job Title

Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer

Role Summary

Support customers, Altera field personnel, distribution FAEs and internal teams to enable FPGA design wins and resolve technical issues throughout the design cycle. Provide web-based and on-site support, system-level guidance, and technical training to field, distributors, and customers.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on customer-facing technical support, design enablement, and issue resolution across hardware and software domains.

  • Provide web-based and on-site technical support for customers and distribution/field FAE teams.
  • Enable design wins by diagnosing issues, driving them to closure, and escalating internally as needed.
  • Advise on software/hardware trade-offs and participate from concept through system-level implementation.
  • Develop, validate, and troubleshoot FPGA designs and verification flows.
  • Deliver technical training to Altera field teams, distributors, and customers.
  • Collaborate with specialist colleagues and corporate applications to resolve complex problems.

Requirements

Key technical skills and professional abilities required for successful performance.

Must-have:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in FPGA or embedded systems application/support roles.
  • Proficiency with VHDL and Verilog and experience with FPGA verification tools.
  • Experience with Altera embedded solutions, including Hard Processor System (HPS), Linux, and driver development/toolchains.
  • Experience with Altera soft processor solutions and associated toolchains.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational skills, and an ability to drive technical issues to closure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with system-level integration and customer-facing technical enablement.
  • Familiarity with Altera development tools and IP stacks.

Education Requirements
