Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer
Role Summary
Enable and optimize software for Intel products across AI, Cloud, HPC, Graphics, and Edge. Work with customers, ISVs/IBVs, and cross-functional teams to debug, prototype, and deliver optimized software, benchmarks, and technical collateral.
Experience Level
Entry-level (0β3 years). Hiring typically expects ~1 year with a Bachelor's degree or may consider candidates with a Master's degree and no prior experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical enablement, optimization, and customer-facing support.
- Collaborate with customers, ISVs/IBVs, and ecosystem partners to develop, test, and optimize software for Intel platforms.
- Analyze and debug complex software and firmware issues; drive fixes and improvements.
- Perform and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and best practices.
- Research and prototype solutions that leverage Intel technologies.
- Produce benchmarks, documentation, and training to support product adoption.
- Provide technical consulting and customer support for platform-specific software challenges.
- Contribute input on software architecture and product design; promote Intel tools and technologies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, permissions, and soft skills. Preferred items listed separately.
- Programming experience in Python and other relevant languages.
- Knowledge of computer architecture, firmware, and operating systems.
- Experience with software/firmware debugging, validation, and issue analysis.
- Familiarity with software/firmware development lifecycle and code review processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for technical audiences.
- Experience in technical consulting or customer-facing support roles; ability to solve complex customer problems.
- Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
- Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (position is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with BIOS.
- Experience providing actionable feedback on software architecture.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. The posting notes a Master's degree may substitute for experience ("no experience required with a Master's degree"). Advanced English proficiency is expected.
