Job Title

Software Development Engineer - Silicon Development Infrastructure

Role Summary

Build and operate infrastructure, tooling, and automation that accelerates silicon development at Annapurna Labs. Work across cloud infrastructure, high-performance computing, and electronic design automation to enable chip design, verification, and emulation teams to iterate faster and validate more thoroughly.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical background: 3+ years professional software development, plus experience designing systems and hands-on systems engineering as described below.

Responsibilities

Key day-to-day responsibilities supporting silicon development workflows and platform operations.

  • Partner with silicon design, verification, emulation, and software teams to understand workflows and remove blockers.
  • Design, implement, and operate cloud infrastructure and HPC clusters (for example, using Slurm) for silicon development.
  • Build tooling and automation to reduce manual toil and shorten time-to-results, including CI/CD for infrastructure-as-code.
  • Maintain platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency from design through production operation.
  • Develop monitoring, diagnostics, alerting, incident response runbooks, and documentation to improve observability and resilience.
  • Participate in design reviews, postmortems, and continuous improvement of infrastructure and developer workflows.

Requirements

Must-have skills and relevant experience.

  • 3+ years professional (non-internship) software development experience.
  • 2+ years designing or architecting systems with focus on reliability and scalability.
  • 3+ years hands-on systems engineering or administration experience in networking, storage, and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (examples: C++, Java, Python, Go, C#, Rust, Ruby).
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals: networking, storage, operating systems.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with Linux/Unix; CI/CD and build processes; infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK); AWS services; HPC clusters and workload schedulers (Slurm); semiconductor/EDA workflows; monitoring, observability, and incident management at scale.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. The posting also indicates a bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
